Hi! I have a 5 month old DD who i am still breastfeeding and am slowely weaning on advice from doctor as we have had real problems with her sleeping ( she only sleeps around 4 hours a night) and acid reflux. She really loves the food, i have started her on organic pots of veg and fruit and baby rice, however, she has not had a poo for 2 and a half days and is very moody and cries a lot.
I am trying to give her the breast still, she has never taken a bottle despite trying for 5 months!
Any advice? thanks!

2.5 days - no need to worry, but if it gets to a week, give her some orange juice, that will definitely do the trick.
In the meantime, avoid banana, as that causes constipation. Pear is a good fruit to try in this case.

My LO is b/fed and has taken to going a few days between poos every now and then, I'd just say when she goes be prepared and change it fast as when my ds goes after 4or 5 days when it's usually everyday it's more than a nappy can deal with sorry if TMI

Is she drinking tea/water/juice - something other than milk? She isn't moving much so it's easy to get constipated at that age. We had a terrible time with it.

Dried apricots are good. You can soften them overnight in a bit of water then puree. Plums are good. You can get the juice at health food stores and that works quite fast. I'd have dried apricots and plum (prune) juice in store all the time.

Steer clear of carrots and banana (check the contents of your pots, they often use carrot because it's sweet).

Good luck, probably just takes a while for dd's body to get used to the change. She'll be fine after a bit.
