Weaning 'recovery' after stomach bug

Hi all

After a rough start, I was finally getting somewhere with weaning my 9 month old dd. For about a week everything was great, we were finally on 3 (very small) meals a day!
However that's all gone to pot now. She's had a stomach bug for a week and been having max 7oz milk a day with no solids. She's starting to perk up but it's obvious her appetite is still non existent. She's taking 2oz of milk at a time about 4 times a day. Does it usually take a while for them to get their appetite back even once the bug is gone? She's also just cut her first tooth so not sure if that's affecting her too... Losing the will to live with worry..

Poor you with the worry. Sorry no direct advice as I haven't experienced it myself with my 9 month old BUT in my mummy circle, I know of a couple of 8-10 month old babies who massively lost their appetites for weeks on end after illness when they had previously been very good eaters. The teething definitely won't help either (mine flat out refuses his usual solids when he's having a bad teething day). Hopefully it's just a matter of time and waiting it out but know it's hard when you just want them to eat! All the best xx

Thanks Jess. Thankfully she's stopped puking now and she was hungry this morning.
She's refused all solids and all other bottles were a battle today, I definitely think teething is causing problems now as she's just cut her second tooth today. The joys!

Oh bless her. Poor little thing, yes sounds teething related. Honestly, teeth are overrated aren't they lol! All the best :-)
