Hi, I'm a first time mum and I've tried lots of different fruit n veg but all my 6.5 month old only seems interested in porridge! Any advice?

Keep offering lots of different things, at the early stages of weaning its more about getting them used to foods. Are your blw or plw?
And remember, food for fun until one.

We started weaning at 5.5 months and DS is now 8 months. Up until about 2 weeks ago he was only interested in breakfast (porridge and weetabix with a bit of fruit puree added). Then about 2 weeks ago something much have just clicked and he started eating and is now on 3 decent meals per day and eating EVERYTHING!

I slightly reduced his milk intake as he was getting through 36oz per day, but I only did this under the instruction of a dietician and wouldn't have done it at 6.5 months.

Just keep offering things and as disheartening as it is to just throw it all away every day, they will get there eventually.

OP, my DD is now 27 months but one of her absolute favourite things to eat still is porridge with mashed steamed apple. If you want to get some fruit in her this might be worth a try!

However, please don't stress about getting that much food in her as right now it really is about experimentation rather than full meals. Just get a banana and put it in front of your DC and let them get on with it. Smile
