...that sounds all wrong..

Advice needed please, I'm about to wean my DD1, any recommendations on a good food processor advice in general. Planning pureee/spoon led rather than BLW.

I just bought a cheap hand held blender, then used it on our family meals, worked for the first two so hoping to do the same with my third. HTH

Personally on the occasions I made a lentil soup of something for them when they were babies (for the nights the rest of us were having something far too high in salt and other crap for the baby!) I found a cheapy stick blender absolutely fine, certainly no need to fill your kitchen with a bigger blender if you wouldn't use it for anything else. Even doing puree you can often use/adapt your own food. Eg if doing a nice pasta sauce then take a portion for the baby and blend it up for them. Soups etc can be shared with baby.

Otherwise just enjoy! Stick to no honey or whole nuts until one and no added salt or sugar and you will be fine. Milk first, most nutrients will still be coming from milk. Chuck food at baby at your normal meal times/meal times you want baby to have and have fun. Some days your baby will eat the lot, others they will refuse most food. Sometimes they seem to eat a single food group a day rather than a variety. Just be guided by your baby. You can do that jsut as well with puree as you can with BLW by offering and allowing baby to take it or not as they choose. Look at what they eat over a week rather than a day, all of a sudden the diet that has been stressing you out looks perfectly reasonable :).

My friend lent me a steamer/blender made by avent - it does both and is extremely easy to use - raw carrots in and purée out. I couldn't manage without it, particularly for small batches. I think it's about £75 but totally worth it.
