Weaning early for allergies?

Really confused - was planning to wean bf baby at 6mths, blw etc. She has eczema that got much worse and that was partly why I've been set on waiting. However GP suspects cows milk allergy after a severe reaction to formula; he mentioned some ongoing research which may lead to the conclusion early weaning is better for babies at risk of allergies. I've had a look and am now totally torn - anyone with similar experience? might post in allergies too.

its ongoing so there are no results yet. The advice still remains at 6 months. Is it the EAT study?

Yes that's it but the Australian research has already led to changed guidelines there, and I understand some specialists here are recommending early weaning in these circs already. It's a fucker isn't it - trying to do the rightthing but if I stick to current guidelines exactly but then in 3yrs they reverse them I may feel like I've harmed not helped her.

Weaning a baby before 6 months is a huge faff. Weaning a baby with CMPA will be doubly hard.

I know the information can be misleading but weaning early made no difference to my allergies. I'd stick to when dd is showing the signs of readiness
