Gluten free porridge for 5 month old?

Have started weaning DS early with advice from paediatrician/HV. He currently has baby porridge in the morning but was wondering if anyone knows if a standard gluten free porridge would be fine? That way I could make our breakfast together and make it a more sociable meal.

The dietician my son saw when he was 5months suggested Ready Brek

the only thing with oats is that due to production methods they could be cross contaminated with wheat. I would stick with the baby stuff until he is 6 months or you would have to look out for oats that specifically say they are gluten free.

I checked Ready Brek and I'm sure it gad gluten in?

you would probably have to check the 'free from' aisle in the supermarket to find a product guaranteed as gluten free as most of the other brands will be cross contaminated

Yes I think I'll do that, might be just as expensive but at least would be more palatable for myself. Counting down the weeks until he is 6 months!

the weetabix website even says that weetabix, ready brek and oatibix are not suitable for babies under 6 months and that all oat products can contain small quantities of other grains such as wheat and/or barley. (cross contamination)
