My 24 week old DD for the last few weeks has started having Aptamil creamy porridge and she loves it. She is fantastic at feeding off spoon to the point that she is desperate to take to spoon off me and do it herself! (Obviously i'm not fast enough!). She now has around 3 - 4 spoonfuls of the powder (which is around 12-15 spoonfuls of porridge) twice a day (Breakfast and tea).

Next week I would like to try something different and start introducing different purees etc. I'm happy with what I want to give her but where do you start with portion sizes?!!

Also, when did your DC start dropping bottles and how do you know they want to stop? Did you always offer milk before giving solids?

TIA x

Think a portion size is about the size of their palm.

I wouldn't bother with special baby cereals, they are very expensive and a total con. Just use porridge oats or ready brek instead Smile

I give her around that size now for each meal and she eats it all most of the time. When do you increase it?

Is she happy after she has finished? Are you giving the milk feed first?

Have you read the Mn and nhs weaning info too?

As long as he can pick them up he should be fine. You could also squish them with a fork if you are worried Smile
