Age of weaning and starting crèche

Hello, my dd will be 5 months on the 29 Jan. We live in Belgium and I was advised to start giving her one small portion of puréed veg (no fruit) with a spoonful of oil every afternoon in the next week or so.

She will begin crèche in March. Very short days for a few weeks, gradually progressing to longer days.

So, I have a few questions. What do you think about introducing veg earlier than 6 months? I've read some articles suggesting that 4 months is a good time. She doesn't seem to be ready for solids. She can sit up well, hold her head steady etc.
What is the best way to introduce solids when starting crèche? I don't want to overload her. I am bf exclusively at the moment.

Thanks for any advice!

Haven't got much time to reply but have a look on kellymom, how do we get started with solids and breastfeeding and childcare should help Smile
