Metal cutlery - when to introduce?

Sorry if silly question/wrong topic but...

DD is 13m, has 4 teeth (only just coming through). I would continue with plastic, but nursery uses metal. They are happy to use plastic for her, but should I just let them use metal now? I have no idea when people change over!

Think we started once they were mainly self feeding, so around 18 months, but plastic spoons seemed easier and less harsh to begin with until they were fairly accurate.

my dd is about the same age but whenever i give her a spoon to feed herself most of the time if goes on the floor (she does feed herself sometimes) should i be investing in a little plastic knife and fork for her??

dd got them at 13/14 months, she loved self feeding so i just got the little knife, fork and spoon set for her and she took to it really quickly, oddly enough even though she's quite accident prone she's never jabbed herself or hurt herself

DD is mainly self feeding, pretty much refuses all offers of help (unless it is yoghurt, which she sometimes allows us to spoon in if we want) and she's pretty good at it. Maybe I should just let her get on with it with metal spoons then (i don't think they use forks - but I have a set at home so maybe I'll dig those out)
Thanks

I give my DS (almost a year) metal cutlery but he doesn't use it. He chews on it though and it's quite rounded so I'm not worried about it safety wise. I just know that I find plastic cutlery really annoying!
