Wow, I've been giving it to dd since she was six months. Why were you told not to?

HappyAsASandboy · 08/01/2014 20:20

From 6 months I think.

ALittleBitOfChristmasMagic · 08/01/2014 20:20

I can't remember why just that I shouldn't give him it . It was at a weaning fair by a nutritionist .

The NHS weaning advice says to give yogurt from six months, preferably with no added sugar. No mention of live yogurt being bad. I would imagine it's better than the sugary ones marketed at children. And it doesn't seem to have done dd any harm.

I'm not sure what, if any, qualification a "nutritionist" needs, but dairy is fine from 6 months.

Pyjamadonkey · 08/01/2014 21:47

Anybody can call themselves a nutritionist, it's not a protected title, unlike a dietitian, who will have a 4 year degree and registration with the HPC.

You can give bio yogurts from 6 months

PenguinsDontEatKale · 08/01/2014 21:50

Why wouldn't you give live yoghurt Confused?

AmandaCooper · 08/01/2014 21:57

Since 6 months DS has eaten about 40kg of the stuff!
