Petit pois peas: ok at 11months for BLW or choking hazard??

I haven't given my DS peas before & am starting to wonder if I'm depriving the poor boy or if I'm right not to for now.

I know they're hardly in the same league as grapes but small round things make me feel a bit hmmm.

Does your DS have a pincer grip? I can't remember the age I gave my LO peas but it was when she could grab them herself. HTH

They Should be fine, a pea is a lot smaller than his throat so shouldn't block it. You could always squish them a bit if you wanted. That would also stop them rolling away from him, which is funny but gets frustrating for the dc.

It's fine. If your baby can pick them up they he has the control in his mouth to not choke on them. Nuts are a choking hazard because they are hard and cannot chew it. My 10 mo DD likes chucking them across the room

My LO has been eating peas since about 10 months and he loves them. They are the only small round food that I don't chop up - blueberries which are slightly bigger I still chop in half, though to be fair he could probably manage those whole too.

Ok thanks! Will put them on the menu tonight!
