How the hell do you use a stick blender...

...without getting food everywhere?

I may be being a bit dense but every time I use my stick blender to blend baby food my kitchen resembles a VeggieTales crime scene.

There's currently broccoli up my walls, and it wasn't even the baby who did it.

What am I missing? Confused

I have a deep jug thing that came with it. You need a deep narrow container. I use it in a sauce pan too when making lots of soup. That's always fine. Small quantities need a deep container!
Happy cleaning!

Erm, cook broccolli, leave to cool, give to baby, leave stick blender in drawer...Xmas Smile

Keep it upright, don't tilt while blending. That's where I come unstuck anyway...

It was this issue that led me to baby led weaning. Once i spent half the afternoon cleaning up my attempt at a carrot based concoction and that was my last attempt at making my own puree. Broccoli is a great finger food for babies as it is easy to pick up.

Make sure the blender is resting on the bottom of the dish. Otherwise you are asking for carrot purée on the walls!
