9 month portion size

my nearly 9 month DD eats a bit at each meal time but I'm curious about portion sizes?

example: she had a slice of toast with butter & cream cheese for breakfast with 5 cut up raspberries. she didn't eat all the toast as she started to get annoyed/fussy (my cue that shes telling me shes finished.
she then had 2oz milk.

soooo is the food portion enough do you think? and is that enough variety for breakfast or should I offer more different things?
with lunch and dinner I try to have 2-4 different things to keep her more interested for longer and to add variety at each meal.

thanks people of mumsnet! Grin

Yes! My 9 month DD is the same. Fussy eater.

I am trying to up the portions too. She will eat for brekkie a Tommie tippie bowl of weetabix baby porridge but it's half full and then some times she will want more sometimes not. So I give her a slice/round of toast with something on top. And she will eat that.

For lunch for example. A bowl of food but not filled to the top and then veggies on the side (BLW) The other day she nearly caned a whole banana. Wink

So I'm thinking well what is the portions for a 9 monther!? But she still fussy so I just try and get her to eat as much as she can.

I think the general rule is that their stomach is the size of their fist - so really quite small. A serving is the size of their palm, so again very small.

I do think though, that babies eat to their appetite, so if you keep offering until they don't want any more then you can't go far wrong. Sometimes they want to eat lots and other times hardly anything - I just go with it with my ds, and it all evens out in the end.
