11 month old...sudden intolerance to cows milk.

ds has been having cows milk in his porridge for ages, and a 2oz drink of cows milk with his lunch. he likes it, and has been fine with it.
the last bout of teething turned his solid poo into smelly mushy ones, and after weeks of saying 'it'll settle down' it hasn't. so yesterday i replaced all his cows milk with formula and this morning we have a return to solid poo. so i'm pretty sure it's the cows milk that is upsetting his tummy.
this has completely thrown me, what should i do? leave it for a few weeks and try cows milk again to see what the reaction is? and if he can't have cows milk what the hell am i going to do?

Sometimes when a child gets a tummy bug they develop a temporary lactose intolerence but if he is ok with formula (assuming it is normal formula) that would have lactose in it so probably not that. I would give him the formula for a week (or whenever the packet runs out!) and then try the cows milk again. Or you could try soya milk

thankyou......i think i'll keep him off the cows milk for a while and then slowly introduce it again. he's fine on the formula.....
