Hello, how do I give fruit to a 8 month old? Do I really have to stew stuff? She can't eat anything processed.

Just cut it. Sliced banana, sliced berries, sliced pears, sliced peaches. I buy some fruit in cans as it is softer. Make sure canned fruit is in juice rather than syrup though.

My DS 1 loved mashed banana and avocado

Ready made pots/pouches - buy them on special offer, i can't buy and stew that much fruit for the money!

Otherwise cut fruit up into smaller-than-choking-risk sized chunks (eg 1/2 a grape or blueberry, 1/4 of a strawberry, baby-finger length bit of banana) and let them get messy.

My 11mo's new favourite thing is eating a pear or apple whole. He has enough teeth to get a bite and I've done a basic first aid course nd used it so am confident to deal with minor choking. He also prefers his bananas in the skin, then bites as much as he wants when he's ready :)

Search for Baby Led Weaning here of on the web in general, nowt wrong with a bit of finger food for a puree-fed baby Wink

I just give ds who is almost 9 months bits of fruit. Don't bother cutting it very small, I find larger chunks they can pick up and chew on are better (except brittle fruit like apples because choking size chunks could snap off). I give ds half a peeled banana at a time which he loves. He still doesn't have any teeth but can easily devour a whole banana pretty speedily. Things like peaches and pears I give him wedges of with the skin on which make it easier for him to hold. Currently he loves kiwi fruit, peeled and cut into chunky slices.
