I've followed loads of advice and let my DD make a massive mess at each meal. This has been going on for some time now. I'm starting to worry that she thinks food is for playing rather than eating! Seriously, she's getting better about putting food in her mouth (even used cutlery this week(my handing her a small fork with food on it)), but when is this going to get neater? Someone please talk me off the ledge....as I go down to scrub down high chair and soak safety harness to clean it.

Me too, me too! DD is 10 mths tomorrow and at the moment she thinks food is for wiping on the table and dropping on the floor. I used to be able to distract her by giving her something un-messy to hold, like a potato or piece of bread, while I fed her the messy bits but that no longer works. She clamps her lips shut unless she is handling the messy bits and all. It's driving me nuts!

Hi all, I have just started trying to give my little girl things in her highchair to eat, sometimes i worry if shes getting enough to eat or not as most of it ends up on the floor. Also now when i do try and feed her she just launches her hands in it. Like you i am thinking will she think this is just a normal thing to do.
