The yoghurt minefield

DS is 9m, he had reflux as a tiny and we are now on our 3rd night without his omeprazole - yay!
He is on CMPF milk and we were told to wean DF and introduce dairy slowly which we have done.
A few months back the dietician said to try Soya yog which went straight through him and it took a good 2 weeks to get bowels back on track.
Since then, i've tried the Petit Filous and they appear to have been fine, i've also tried milk on his breakfast instead of formula and so far fine.

The other day, i'd run out of petit filous so tried him with a bit of greek yog and again today we've just had liquid come out of him, though not to the same extent as the Soya caused.

What's the difference between fromage frais and greek (and normal for that meter) yoghurt? If he has this reaction to soya and greek, am i better not trying normal?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

No idea on that one sorry. Has he been allergy tested? Only it seems unusual advice to try him with soya when he seems to be CMPI as many people with this are also intolerant to soy.

And have you tried asking on the allergies board? Smile

Fromage frais/Petit Filous is not actually yoghurt. Its soft cheese. That might be something to do with it maybe?

Greek yoghurt is just plain live yoghurt that's been strained to make it thicker and creamier.

jilted it was the dietician who suggested the soya yoghurt and when I spoke to his consultant about the, er, after effects of it, he said he wasn't sure why she'd suggested it. Needless to say, haven't spoken to her since and have stuck to talking with his consultant.

It did seem really odd to me too. I'm CMPI and if I have soya I get the same reaction, when I tried soya milk I felt like I had the flu for about 3 days after.
