Hungry or habit?

My little chap is 19 weeks. Every night for weeks and weeks now he wakes at 1, 3 and 5 am.
I have tried him with a little baby rice a few times, but he still sticks religiously to shouting for his usual feeds. Dd took to solids like a duck to water and it looks like this one is going to be the same. I gave him some baby rice this morning, he didn't feed for about 3 hours. He simply made up for it this afternoon and needed feeding every other hour.

What do I do now? I'm a bit stuck

am intrested to watch this one, as Joey's been the same of late - feeding loads more esp at night he's v unsettled - I put it down to a growth spurt, or moving rooms. didn't wanns do the baby rice thingy, but let me know how u go. (he's 18 weeks now)

19 weeks is very earlty for solids, and solids are unlikely to help reduce waking - there is some research to back that up, as well as lots of people's experience.

As to what you do now - how about nothing?! Leave the solids until he's older . He doesn't need them at this age

My ds was the same and it lasted a while! First solids don't really provide much nourishment they get it from the milk for quite a while! Giving solids early runs the risk of developing food intolerances! Not a good idea. Eventually he started sleeping better.

will do as well mrs D I think - besides which we're moving in 6 weeks and can't be arsed faffing about with solids whilst we're moving! lol.
