hiya,

I'm confused on portion sizes for my 6.5 month baby. how many carrot sticks (roughly size of my finger) is a portion size?

same question for other foods, such as broccoli, toast, strawberries, etc?

thanks Smile

DD is 8months. She has 4-5 strawberries as pudding, 1/2 a slice of toast following a bowl of porridge. If she's having all finger foods I do 3-4 strawberries, 3big blueberries, 2 large raspberries an inch square cube of cheese and a 2inch chunk of banana. This would be one meal. Hope that helps.

Mine never ate at 6 months, in fact hardly ate until 9 months so the amount becks dd eats sounds lots to me, but perfectly reasonable if her dd eats it.
I'd try to be guided by your dc and not stress about the fact they've only eaten half a portion of something. If you are asking so you can prepare enough, aim to have a few bits like rice cakes, bread sticks, fruit etc you can add to the meal quickly if still hungry.

Not sure if its relevant but we started weaning at 5.5 months, did traditional weaning and DD is formula fed. She doesn't alway eat all what I put in front of her Smile
