What age can you give wheatabix?

That's it really....what's the earliest yu can start then on it, using breast or formula milk.

erm.....I think from when ever you are allowed to give them foods containing gluten in. Is that 6 or 9mnths??

I started giving them to my son at 6 mts with formulas milk

I tried my ds on weetabix this morning he'll be 7 months next week, I think someone recommended it on another thread, I was a bit worried about the salt content but he only eats a miniscule amount anyway this has been the biggest hit with him foodwise so far.

In theory you can give wheat from 6 months although some people prefer to wait a bit longer, as wheat foods can be hard to digest and some people are intolerant. Weetabix has sugar and salt in, so I wouldn't choose it as a weaning food anyway. Something like porridge or ready brek is better IMO.

Yeah i'm going to get some ready brek too, is that not high in salt now? Because I know it used to be.

there is not that much salt in weetabix and it is easy to make - an adult portion of 2 biscuits has 1/4 a gram of salt so a portion given when weaning e.g. half a biscuit would only contain 1/16th a gram of salt

From 6 months you can make up cereal using full fat cows milk - I used to heat the milk, add to the weetabix and let it go soft and then mix in some fruit puree/mashed fruit to add flavour.

weetabix is ok from 6 months as is ready brek.

My DSs didn't seem to tolerate them very well when tried at around 8-9 months (came out looking the same in nappy!) but when tried again at 12-13 months were fine but they prefer porridge anyway.

I give my son the organice weetabix and they seem to be a lot better

6 months, but you can use cows milk if you want.

Hipp do their own version of weetabix as well.
