Dr has advised early solids due to reflux

Not sure where to post this! Dd is 23 weeks and paediatrician has advised starting veg solids to try and combat dd relux. We have tried meds, she is now gaining more weight after dropping two centiles but as a result I am bfeeding her every 90 minutes or so. Has anyone with a reflux baby done early solids and found it made a difference or will my cream carpet end up orange?? Ds also had reflux, solids started about this age but he has eczema and allergies - I am slightly paranoid it may be the cause of allergies if I start solids with dd too soon. I know it's only 3 weeks but sometimes this could make all the difference. She looks ready to start solids, can sit up, chews everything, tries too grab my food, seems hungry all the time (hence feeding frequently). So those with reflux babies, how did it go? And have you had any problems with allergies or intolerances? Thanks.

I had the same advice, and my DS has not developed any allergies or intolerances.

It made a huge difference to him, as I was feeding every 30-40 mins, and he was waking up hourly through the night!

He was a different baby, put on weight, less grouchy, could put him down, and he slept better.

It is not ideal, if you were hoping to wait until 26 weeks, as it is not what you were expecting to do, but it should help with feeding and sleep.

We didn't wean DS early, but gave gaviscon instead. He continued to have reflux well past a year.

Good luck
