Am making up an AK recipe and it says I can either steam or microwave the brocoli - can't be bothered to get out the whole steamer for such a small amount of brocoli so how do I do it in the microwave? MTIA

Just stick it an pyrex or mug of water and cook for a few minutes. Takes about the same time as on the hob.

just enough water to cover it or more?

Pyrex dish with a lid. Rinse brocolli (don't shake off too much water), put in dish and cover.

Will steam rather than boil and cooks quicker than it would if you put it in water.

SG - haven't got a pyrex dish, will a bowl and plate to cover be OK - they're both MW proof.

Yes - as long as it will keep the steam in.

Moisture from brocolli will rise, condense on the cover and drop again so it will still work.
