Bottle to sippy cup / Formula to cows milk

Hi all

DD is almost 11 months and currently has 2 x 5/6oz formula bottles (morning and evening) and a 3/4/5oz formula sippy cup mid afternoon (she's not that fussed about it and will prob drop it soon).
In your experience is it better to transition the other two feeds into sippy cups before or after the switch to cows milk?

Also is it best to go cold turkey at 12mo or start to wean gradually? If anyone has a link to any research about it i'd be very grateful! She's had it on cereal, eats cheese and yogurt happily and has been fine with it since 7mo.

Weight / height is fine (50th pc weight / 25th height - me & DH are not tall!) and HV was happy with her at her developmental check last week if that makes any difference.

Ta!

No links sorry but the current recommendation is a minimum of 20floz of first stage milk until they are one, then 10floz of full fat cows milk a day iuntil they are 2.

Some people find that ditching the bottles earlier works, some use a sippy cup for most milk but keep the bedtime bottle. One thing that can work is to gradually add cows milk to her formula, say an ounce at a time but as she's having less than the recommended amount of formula now, I'd wait until after 12 months before you start doing this.

Have you tried putting formula on her cereal to up her intake?

Thanks for the info - she eats plenty and a varied diet; she has milk on cereals, yogurts and cheese so i'm not really worried amount pumping more into her - she is sick if she has another bottle now.

Unfortunately under one you aren't supposed to include the amount of dairy in the calculation, its just simply a minimum of 20floz until they are one to ensure they get the right nutrition to grow and develop. If your HV has told you any different then you've been misinformed I'm afraid.

And it doesn't have to be another bottle, it could be formula on her cereal Smile

She does have it on breakfast - don't measure it tho! Thanks for the info :)
