Hi. My DD is 9mo and eats well. I like to give her things for her to feed herself at lunchtime but running out of ideas. She has sandwiches with cheese or egg, or sometimes an omelette chopped up. Usually accompanied by tomatoes, cheese, oranges etc. Any other ideas? The only thing I don't give her is meat, although fish I do give her fish.

We're veggie so I can't suggest fish type things but here are some of the things I've given my ds (now 12mo):

Hummus and pitta bread
Filled jacket potato halves
Vegetable fritters
Courgette polpettes from the River Cottage Baby & Toddler cookbook
Falalel
Puff pastry tomato tart
Salady bits eg coleslaw, mozzarella chunks, olives, breadsticks, tomato
Mashed potato with leeks/cabbage
Panini sandwiches - scrambled egg & cheese filling
Mashed avocado on toast
Veggie sausages,beans and grilled tomatoes

The River Cottage cookbook is really good for ideas - I would recommend it.

They're a sort of veggie meatball - here's the recipe. Smile

Pitta bread stuffed with tuna, sweetcorn and cheese and put in the toaster to melt is really tasty.

Scrambled eggs
Tuna Mayo and sweetcorn sandwich/pita
Plain pasta
Pasta with tomato/veg sauce
Pasta with grated cheese and cucumber
Jacket potato wedges

Jacket sweet potato with baked beans and cheese
Cous cous with tinned mackeral and broccoli
Cauliflower cheese and jacket potato

I always make more of anything that will freeze and then freeze in glass ramekins so have mini portions for quick lunches - hidden veg tomato sauce, cheese sauce, lentil bolognase all make a quick lunch with some pasta or rice.

Thanks twenty. I love the use of tinned mackerel will try that next. The courgette things were a real hit, she loved them!
