Lumps and sick

I've been weaning DD for about 4-6 weeks, she's now 6.5 months old. She's fine with purées but have started her with some lumper textured food and she really struggles, sometimes she gags and is then sick. Is it too early to try lumpy/mashed food?

Probably not too early - you can do BLW from 6 months after all. My baby gagged and was sick a lot at first, and only really stopped at about 8 months.

The supposed advantage of lumps early on is that the possibility of choking may be lower since the gag reflex is still towards the front of the the mouth.
