Lunch ideas for 7 month old

Hi,

I am after some inspiration for what to feed my 7month old for lunch. I find myself mostly giving him toast with either a thin scraping of butter, dairylee cheese triangle or beans. He is a good eater and has liked pretty much everything I have given him so far. Eats plenty of fruit and veg throughout the day and the majority of his lunches and teas are home cooked (unless we are out somewhere I occasionally use either Heinz or Ella's kitchen pouches). Also given him omelettes and he really enjoys these, but struggle to think of any other ideas and don't want him to get bored!

Any suggestions greatly appreciated! X

cheesey pesto pitta

How about things like vegetable fritters? I make carrot or courgette ones by finely grating the veg and then mixing with self raising flour to make a rough dough. Shape into patties and fry.

Or hummus and pitta, or falafel, or filled jacket potatoes (scoop out the insides of jacket potato halves, mix in cheese or whatever and refill, bake in oven until browned). Polenta chips (fingers of cooled polenta fried or baked like chips)?

The River Cottage Toddler and Baby cookbook has got lots of great recipes - you could see if your library has it rather than buying it initially. Or the BLW cookbook by Gill Rapley.

Thanks both for your replies, like the sound of the veg fritters and the hummus and pitta. And will have a look for the river cottage book.

Thanks x
