Why do carrots stain EVERYTHING?

I'm not that fussed about the bowls and spoons but I have borrowed a high chair from a friend for a couple of weeks until ours is delivered and there are noticeable yellow marks on the tray. I really want to return it the way I got it especially since it was fine after a year of use but I seem to have wrecked it within a few weeks ? Any tips or tricks?

Lemon juice? Toothpaste?

Try vegetable oil on it? The stuff in carrots that makes it stain disolves best in oils, so it's worth a try.
