10 month old suddenly refusing to eat

My ds is almost 10 months and for the last few days has been a nightmare to feed. He will eat his weetabix for breakfast but then lunch and supper are a disaster. Doesn't matter what I give him, spoon fed or finger food he won't eat. He has 4 bottles a day, do you think I should cut out one as maybe he's not hungry? Or could it be a phase? He's a chunky thing so I'm not worried re his weight but don't want him to start demanding milk in the night because he's not had enough in the day!

Could it be teeth? Dd refuses food when teething and ups her milk intake.

Yes check for teeth, that could be it. If so try ibruprofen about 30 minutes before his main meal and a teething gel, like dentinox, just before.

If you are thinking of cutting down milk, how much does he have now?

As for food refusal, just keep offering and don't worry if he refuses. Just eat your own meal and let him get on with it. He won't starve and if you start offering alternatives he will soon work out that if he whines, Mummy will give him something more acceptable

I checked for teeth but I can't see any but I suppose it could be. I'll try dentinox tomorrow we've got some somewhere.
I offer him 4 7oz bottles a day, breakfast, mid morning, afternoon and bedtime. He doesn't always drink all of them though particularly the afternoon one so perhaps I should cut that out?

I'd keep offering the milk especially if he's not eating much else. He's still meant to get most of his nutrition through milk at this stage anyway.
You can't always see the teeth that are causing trouble. Sometimes by the time they erupt, that can be a relief for them.
Don't worry about solids too much, make sure he's getting milk and offer water with meals. What about something cold for him to chew on? A damp flannel in the fridge is nice for them to chew on.

Another good tip thank you! His appetite has returned now, yesterday had a baked potato for lunch and spag Bol for tea of which he ate all. No tooth has appeared though so maybe it wasn't teeth after all.

At that age both of mine would eat some days and then hardly bother on other days. It helped me to look at what they had eaten over a week, so that I didn't become too focused on one unbeaten meal

Glad his appetite has returned, it's common for them to have fussy days but it does sound to me like a lot if milk for his age. I think I'd cut out one bottle.
