He she can eat curry, you may want to add yogurt or cream if its hot to cool it down :)

Pascha · 05/06/2013 08:50

Of course, its fine. Definitely plenty of yoghurt for now though.

I've been giving DS curry since he was 6 months....he loves it....I hate hot food myself so I use mild spices and yogurt :)

Forgetfulmog · 05/06/2013 08:52

My dd loves curry! I tend to make it mild though - no chilli, but lots of other spices like cumin, turmeric, cinnamon etc

gaggiagirl · 05/06/2013 08:58

My DD has eaten curry since she was 6 months she also enjoys onion bahjis so yeah go for it. The only down side to some curries is the nappies afterwards!

leedy · 05/06/2013 09:12

Yes, was just going to warn about the curried nappies!

Thanks guys! How do you give it when blw? Do I put some in a bowl on his tray or just put some of the chicken on the tray?

Yes it's fine. There isn't much they can't eat. I usually make quite a mild curry but if you make it spicy then add cream or yogurt to cool.

CornishYarg · 05/06/2013 09:36

Yep, DS also enjoys curry! I just stick to mild recipes or reduce the chilli content though. Before he developed a pincer grip (and he resisted loaded spoons then too), I served the curry with a plain rice cake to soak up the sauce.

I think I started serving it with rice when I started giving him his food in a plate. Blw mess is fine but I drew the line at curry and rice all over the tray and then all over the carpet!

You could put a little in a bowl and give him some naan bread to dip into it. Thats what I did, with soup too.

I gave him some chicken on the tray and he loved it Grin. Usually he shows a little interest in his food for about 2 minutes then it ends up down the side of the high chair but this time he sucked on it for ages! He kept wanting more too. I considered giving him a bowl but didn't fancy an orange carpet!
