Does the 20 floz include formula in food?

Evening all,
Just a quick question, my DS is 6.5mo, weaned over past month, loves food, has never been crazy about milk (ff) but has ditched it pretty quickly in preference for food. I am just about managing to get 20 oz into him most days, by pulling back on the amount of food he's having (purées and finger food). My question is this- I usually make up porridge in the morning (and occasionally evening!) with formula; can I count these ounces in to his total fluid intake too? If yes I could relax a little and stop worrying about the days he only takes 17/18 oz etc.
thanks so much in advance.

Don't see why not from a nutrition point of view. Just make sure he's having enough water generally.

ps. Have no idea about ounces required at this age. Just commenting on general nutritional principles.

yes it does count. Are you giving a gap between milk and food so that he doesnt drop his milk too quickly?

Trying to, powerhoop- but he has re-jigged his bottle requirements to (roughly) 3am/9am/1pm/5pm and bedtime (7.30) so he tends to have a bottle shortly before breakfast/lunch /dinner- not ideal but at least he's getting milk first so can fill up on that, at least that was my thinking! If I give at any other time earlier than above he just won't take it.
Amanda thank you- he's not great yet at drinking water from a cup but ill keep offering it!
Thanks both for your help
