Years ago, I heard (very scientific this!) that the additives in wotsits made children become hyper.

LeahE · 25/05/2006 21:44

I checked one kind of Wotsits recently (they'd been given to DS by someone well-meaning) and the only additive listed was MSG so I let him have them as a one-off. But not regularly and not at 5 months.

Twinkie1 · 25/05/2006 21:47

M&S are very caring and actually have a warning on the packet saying they may stain clothes!!!! (Fuck just got to get DS to read now and he would understand why wearing a bib is essential!!)

FrannyandZooey · 25/05/2006 21:47

They are certainly a good food to eat while breastfeeding, though. Not literally while breastfeeding, or you would end up with an orange powdery baby.

msg contains sodium which is something we all need to be very careful about, especially young children.

I love sucking wotsits... I'm having serious cravings here Grin Wouldn't give them to DS though. I'm trying to pretend that all these lovely junk foods don't exist as if he doesn't know what they are he won't want them!

DS1 will bite your hand off for a Wotsit, I discovered at two separate parties recently... But at home he gets Goodies crisps because I'm smug Grin Wink

Still won't keep his bloody socks on though Sad

hunkermunker · 25/05/2006 23:35

As for 5mo...that's like giving DS2 Wotsits in three weeks time - er, I think not... Angry

Miaou · 25/05/2006 23:36

Put him in tights hunker. That'll traumatise him when he's old enough to know Wink

misdee · 25/05/2006 23:37

oooooooo miauo, i will be posting a parcel for you in the morning. (i am very bad at organisation, i'm sorry)

that's fine misdee, don't worry! It did cross my mind to wonder if you had got my email with my address on, but that was as far as I got... Grin

misdee · 25/05/2006 23:41

i've popped an extra wrap in the parcel, popsycal gave it to me for dd3, so i just want to pass it on again. it has fleece cuffs.

Aw bless you, you star!!

Skribble · 26/05/2006 01:28

Wotsits do have a use....

When on a plane or bus with small child and you really wan to keep the seat next to you free to give you extra room, then Board early, quickly open wotsits, spread over childs face and make sure you dip their hands in so as to make them bright orange. Once the doors close and every one is sat down, then remove wotsits, get out the wipes and remove all traces of wotsits, then spread out Grin.

threebob · 26/05/2006 01:51

If the only additive is MSG - then what on earth are they coloured with?

kiskidee · 26/05/2006 06:30
