Burnt pan while steaming, food still ok?

Just been steaming some carrot for DS, was busy washing up. Had checked and pan looked like it had water in but mustn't have been enough.
When I realised bottom of pan was black Shock
Carrot not discoloured and tastes ok so have puréed it but not sure if still ok to give to DS. Carrot was never in contact with pan and pan is a silver one so don't think it has the Teflon coating like the black ones.

Can I still give the carrot to DS?

(And now my house stinks of burnt pan!!)

If the food tastes ok it should be fine and if you rub your pan with sand it should clean up Smile

I was also steaming some caroits and burned the base of the steamer. They tasted fine. What's the best way to watch steamer?

I have to use a timer Allegro any time I'm cooking. Think it's a combination of the family asking 100 questions, my age and my scatty brain Grin
