Does this sound 'normal' or could it be an allergy?

Dd is almost 7 months, EBF till 5.5 months when she started trying to grab food out of our hands so slowly began Blw. She's now having small amount 3 times day.

Over last couple of weeks we've introduced a couple of bottles of formula during the day. She's never been keen on formula milk and this has been a real struggle to get her to do this but she is now reluctantly drinking about 6oz these feeds. Since she's been taking a decent amount of formula she's become more grumpy during day, although nothing that couldn't be put down to teething pains, but she is also pooping a lot more - couple of times in night whilst previously going through and 8+ times during day. This is also very mucusy though she seems to be digesting food ok.

I was wondering if this was just her body getting used to the change in diet or a sign of an allergy of some kind.
Any experience, advise appreciated.

I think this may be due to the formula. Some babies have a problem digesting lactose (without being actually allergic) and the "mucusy" poo certainly indicates something along those lines. It could of course be related to the teething but as you can't do anything about that, your best bet would be to try her on a soya formula for a while and see if her behaviour/nappy production changes. Hope this helps.

its unlikely to be an issue with lactose as breast milk is full of lactose too. it could be her getting used to the formula or could be an issue with cows milk protein.
