when did YOU wean your LO?

I'm not interested in opinions or conflict or even advice, just simply wondering (being nosey) when you first started to wean your little ones?

It's a bit rude to ask for info then state you don't want people's opinions TBH.

How is it rude? I was constantly asking my friends what/when/why they did things with their babies. We're all friends here aren't we? Grin

Ds1 4 1/2 months (can't remember weeks, after a week or so I realised it was too early and he wasn't really interested)
Ds2 5 months self weaned - BLW
Ds3 6 months but wasn't really interested!

What I ment by the no opinions was the hole 'the guidelines say...' thing, if you have nothing pleasant to say then please don't say anything!

I am simply asking when people started weaning, just out of interest. I am not asking to be shot down or told what's right or wrong within the weaning topic.

All five of mine who range in age from almost 14urs old, down to 2yrs old were first offered food at 6mths, one of them took to it immediately, another wasn't interested until 9mths, the others were varied between those two.

About 2 weeks before the 6 month mark.

Ds sort of weaned himself - we were away with friends and whilst we were all chatting over dinner he leaned over and pinched a chip off dh's plate before we could stop him.

I've always been slightly mortified that his first taste of food was a bloody chip Blush

About 5 1/2 months when he ATE my marmite toast Grin

Swiped it, scoffed it, smiled. I decided waiting until he was 6 mths wasn't going to work.

Dd1 four months

Dd2 5 months

Dd1 onto purees at almost 4 months, bf till 13 months, now 13.

Ds onto purees at just over 4 months, bf till 15 months, now 11.

Dd2 blw at 6 months, bf till 2, now 9.

Dd2 is by far the least fussiest eater!

7 months.
I had tried him at 5.5 and 6 months, but he wasn't as interested as he thought he was! Early baby, so I wasn't surprised really, he did everything a month late.

5 months to see if it helped with his reflux. It did for a week. Then it seems to have all gone wrong. Confused

He's 5 months 3 weeks now. Am stopping to see if that helps.

About 3.5 months.

The recommended age was 4 months at the time.

He was hungry. The HV suggested solids. He liked it.

DS 4 months
DD1 5 months as was going back to work at 6 months and she wouldn't take a bottle
DD2 can't really remember, I think about 6 months, but that's 5 months adjusted as she was early.

Just remembered, we have a friend in Spain who had given DC purée but was petrified about giving him solids (finger food), so she waited till we went there and I did him too! He was about 9 months but was already on purée.

Just over 5 months with ds1 when he pinched a green bean off my plate, he ate very little though for the next 4 months.

Ds2 is 4.5 months and I'm leaving it as long as I can to start the whole faff again.

Dd was 17 weeks because she wasn't drinking her milk and was losing weight because of it.

Ds is 25 weeks on Monday and I've just started to introduce some food to him. He loves it. I would have preferred to wait a bit but it stops him screaming for more milk an hour after feeds and he seems happy Smile

I am purely just wondering, it's not a crime to be nosey nor is it a crime to ask questions on a message board.
There is no gain what so ever

No its not a crime, but it polite to tell people why you want to know. This board is more about asking for help when weaning and MNers supporting one another whilst they wean. Your questions just seem a little odd and impolite.

For all we know you could be using this information for a research paper.

Just so you know, using kisses at the end of posts is very un-MN.

DS1 - 4months
DS2 - 10 weeks
DD - 7 months.

Just seems an odd thing to be interested in! I have never been interested in when friends weaned, if they asked me advice etc I said what I did. But its not particularly interesting.
