Has anyone got any nice pasta recipes?

Have given dd macca cheese and pasta with a tomato, chicken and onion bolog sauce. she seems to really love it.

Any simple alternatives for her to munch on would be very muchly appreciated.

at this stage ds loved a veg pasta sauce with courgettes, aubergines, onion, mushrooms and tinned toms. I'd whizz it up with some cream and cheese.

blueamema · 17/05/2006 20:50

sounds lovely... can you use tin toms at that age??
Thought they had to much salt??

Think i'm doing stuff to much by the book!

Some tinned toms do and some don't - you have to check the ingrediants

Today I did tuna and sweetcorn pasta - onion, garlic, olive oil tinned tomatoes, tinned sweetcorn, tuna and cheese sauce (cheese milk flour unsalted butter).

Ds (8mths) loved it

That was a annabel karmel recipe btw!

do you whizz up your pasta recipes with a blender? Do you find that it then has rather an unpleasant sticky gloopy consistency? Or are you buying special baby pasta that doesn't need to be chopped/blended?

Twiglett · 18/05/2006 08:52

an 8 month old should be able to eat well-cooked whole pasta .. fusille / macaroni etc .. its gret finger food

Twiglett · 18/05/2006 08:54

pesto

tomato garlic and basil

tuna and sweetcorn and mayo

chicken and peppers and mayo

any tomato based sauce

PanicPants · 18/05/2006 08:55

I use small pasta intended for soups!

peanutbutter · 18/05/2006 09:06

thanks

kipper22 · 18/05/2006 09:47

use similar recipes to those suggested here but I use spaghetti and break it into small pieces before cooking.

blueamema · 18/05/2006 10:05

thanks for all the recipes guys.

like the idea of breaking up spaghetti.

i use normal pasta or soup pasta but also find it to be rather gloopy when blended?

can you freeze patsa and spaghetti/bulk make?

Hope so because I've just frozen tuna and sweetcorn pasta!

she writes lots of baby recipe books.

Some people hate her, some love her!

suzi2 · 18/05/2006 10:25

I give my DS pasta, roasted veg |& cheese mixed together as a finger food.

Holymoly321 · 30/05/2006 15:31

Can you give an 8 month old pesto pasta? I LOVE it as it's sooo easy - just cook the pasta and put in a spoon ful of pesto from a jar - but can I give this to DS?

CorrieDale · 30/05/2006 18:44

We did. One tsp isn't going to contain much salt at all. The pesto we get doesn't have anyhting else nasty in it. DS loves it! We also add soft cheese to the sauce - makes it lovely and creamy, and increases the protein.
