Toast as a first food

My LO is exclusively breastfed. She seems happy and sated by milk so we were not planning to introduce solids until 26 weeks. We are however going on holidays during her 25th week and think breakfasts and dinners in restaurants will be more enjoyable for all if she can play with / suck on a soldier of toast.

I have a niggling feeing that bread shouldn't be introduced until after the usual weaning fruit and veg esp if there's a family history of excema or asthma (which we have although very mild forms).

gluten is ok from 6 months so you could see how she gets on with it.

My 6mo has toast not sure how much goes in but it's his fav thing to play with. If there is fruit at breakfast or dinner that could work as well. If teething slices of cucumber are good and soothing. As are mango and melon. Hope wherever you are the restaurants/hotel can help.

Thank you. Cucumber is a great idea as she is teething like crazy.
