Ok, so my 11 mo is sat in her high chair over a pile of oat cakes, bolied egg, toast with butter, pear, pasta parcels. She's eaten nothing and is signing that she's hungry. Grrrrr!!!!

She used to eat everything but is now only interested if it's sweet and/or totally bland (plain pasta, plain rice cakes etc).

What to do? She's driving me mad!!!

I'd probably just offer her 1 or 2 things, not lots. Then there is less waste!

Just give her what she usually has, it's up to her whether she eats it or not.

Given she's so young, I'd also make sure she likes at least one thing on her plate.

Or perhaps she'd eat more stealing off your plate or sharing something with you? My dcs always ate loads at nursery when they had company, it seemed to distract them and they ate without really concentrating on the food. Do you eat with her?

Does she recognise that food is for hunger yet? Maybe she's after some milk? It's so frustrating when they won't eat. A couple of items at first normally works best with DS, but he definitely still has phases where he eats bugger all. I am refusing to worry till he is 1 (so a month to go... Gulp).

She signs milk when she wants that but is definitely signing food. I think she's holding out for something sweet or bland. It's so frustrating because until about a month ago she ate anything then she had a sickness bug for a week and now she's the fussiest eater ever! All my home prepared casseroles etc are being chucked - grrr!
