Hi just wondered if it was ok to use tinned tomatoes in pasta sauces for a 7 month old?

Yes. And be prepared for a (temporarily) orange baby, high chair, etc. huge fun.

dont put them in light coloured clothing for eating it!

Why do you think there'd be a problem? Confused

Babymay1 · 14/02/2013 23:21

Hi all, thanks for your responses. Just thought there might be a problem cos its tinned stuff ie processed etc as opposed to the fresh stuff that's all. Thanks again

Tinned toms are pretty close to "fresh" beyond having being peeled, put into cans and flash cooked, there aren't usually any other ingredients. Certainly you'll get more tomato taste for your £ than buying fresh. Tomato purée is more worrisome (but still not by much in the amounts used in most recipes) as some brands contain a lot of salt, check the label.
