BLW- what for breakfast??

my 8mo is doing sort of ok with BLW..but what do I give for breakfast?
he doesn't do so well with toast really, and seems o get bery frustrated

he won't accpet a spoon so the porridge we all eat at breakfast is out..
what now??

how about banana chopped up? could also try sultanas maybe if he can chew them without choking. Don't really know - dd takes anythoing thats offered on a spoon - eatable or not!

Pikelets or crumpets? Fruit. Also, if you make the porridge really thick, you'll find your DS will be able to pick up chunkfuls and smear them into his mouth. Same with weetabix. We give DS Raisin Wheats (Tescos or Sainsbury's), soaked in milk, and he picks them up individually. But check the labels in whatever cereals you buy - the cranberry or apricot wheats have more crap in them than the raisin ones.

A friend who does BLW but doesn't mind mess had her kids eating yogurt without spoons when they were this age.

You could do the same with porridge? (I wouldn't, though.)

Otherwise, I would just go for anything they'd eat at any time. There's no point in being too hung up about what's appropriate breakfast food, particularly at this age!

when his teeth make toast unomfrtable for my 9 mth old i just give the bread as a breakfast sarnie. he likes garlic cream cheese in his.
