Hi. I want to make my 1 year old a dish made with fresh tuna. I would like to batch cook and freeze it but I'm unsure if its safe. I often use the Annabel Karmel recipe book where she places an icon to show if the dish is freezable or not. However, on the couple of fresh tuna recipes in the book that icon is not there which makes me wonder if its unsafe. Any thoughts please?

if the fresh fish is cooked then I don't see why you couldn't freeze it!

maybe recipes contain other ingredients that don't come up so nice when defrosted (you know how raw tomatoes or strawberries are quite tasteless and yuck when defrosted)

I have never used fresh tuna, but used fresh salmon before, cooked it, flaked it (bones out) froze in cubes - perfect.

if you decide to freeze it (I would) just make sure it is thawed in the fridge, then heat it properly, as usual

and send me a sample taste, please! Smile
