About to try dd on corgette and gf said to mix with baby rice. Does this mean i make up baby rice with milk first or just mix the rice into the corgette?

I'm no expert but I would think you mix the rice with milk then add the corvette.

ballinderrymum · 17/01/2013 10:10

That's what i thought

You might want to read this before offering any more baby rice Smile

Boggler do you think the corvette might be a bit hard to digest? Grin

Boggler · 17/01/2013 15:26

Ooo jiltedjohns I think a nice little red corvette might be quite nice to be weaned on Smile

I would take that article with a pinch of baby rice.

Courgettes are lovely and soft.

We had some for dinner the other day and I steamed some slices for DD3, which she sucked and seemed to really enjoy.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 18/01/2013 11:22

Even if you do take the article with a pinch of salt, I wouldn't eat it and therefore wouldn't feed it to a baby. Why bother when there are so many other nice things to give them? Smile

AThingInYourLife · 18/01/2013 12:24

I don't base my baby's diet on what I eat.

I can't stand parsnips, but I just gave DD3 a bowl of mashed parsnip that she devoured.

DH got a bag of them in Tesco for 20p.

If I fed her the delicious food that I eat, she would not have a good diet for a 6 month old.

Rice flour is just a vitamin fortified thickener that doesn't contain gluten.

No more no less.

Unless you are ethically opposed to thickening gravy with flour, getting all worked up about it is ridiculous.

AThingInYourLife · 18/01/2013 12:29

And linking to hysterical scare tactic articles for a woman who has been feeding her baby baby rice is unkind.

Baby rice has ARSENIC in it!! :o

So it's basically just like feeding your baby rat poison?

O. M. G. Hmm

ilovepowerhoop · 19/01/2013 16:11

I think they mean add dry baby rice to the courgette as it is watery puree and the baby rice acts as a thickener
