CAn I give DS my pasta sauce?

DS is 7 months and I'm wondering wether I can start giving him some of the pasta sauce that I make from scratch for me and DH. This is the recipe - very very basic!
Clove of garlic, some tomato puree, tin of organic tinned tomatoes, fresh basil, onion, olive oil, lean minced meat, fresh ground pepper and some sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. We normally have it with tagliatelle and some grated cheese. Could I just take some of this and mush it up for DS? We never add any salt anyway.

Sounds fab, I would certainly give it to a 7 month old. Can I have some too? Grin

of course you can.

My dd got everything we ate, as you, i never add salt to anything, and most of our meals are cooked from scratch so perfectly suitable for babies.

Ooh! that's good to know. ONe more question - if I add some pasta and mush up his portion, could I also freeze it? Does cooked pasta freeze ok?

mashed up in a sauce will be fine.

I find pasta isn't great to freeze generally, but mashed up is fine.

hi ya shabaloo,, think we meet at the burberry thing the other day!! ,, if u have a waitrose near you they do all organic baby pasta and its tiny so should not need munchin up!! thats what im using at the moment!!, and i freeze it,,,hows your gorgeous little boy, riley is doing great at the sleeping thing i cannot believe how quickly he has adapted and hes taking on his milk during the day now and not at night!! im finally getting some sleep!! any way i hope it is you take care xxx

def freeze the sauce but I'd cook fresh pasta each time. I'd probably make a batch for our dinner, blitz the leftovers with cheese added and freeze it in baby-sized protions. Couscous is fab with pasta sauce for wee ones as it cooks in seconds and doesn't need chopping/mushing.

THanks tassis, that's a good idea - I'll def try it. Hi Mimi1UK, yep it's me! So pleased to hear about Riley! You totally deserve a proper night's sleep! DS is doing well and is doing a shoot for Mothercare tomorrow - we went to the casting after the burberry thing. Will def look out for your gorgeous boy in the Burb catalogue. Re the pasta - is it in the normal pasta aisle or in the baby section? Thanks hon.
