BLW and 'wet' foods

DD is now 8mos and enjoying her food but I'd like to start making things like fish pie and whatnot; maybe even some very mild curry. She's not great with a spoon though unless it's preloaded - so do I just give her a bowl and let her suck it off her hands or however she wants to do things? I've got a dropcloth at the ready!

Yes, pretty much!
If you serve something to dip into the wet stuff (potato wedges with fish pie, strips of naan bread with curry), it can act as a shovel!

Enjoy the mess!

Yup, messy is the way to go. DD had chilli and rice today and she was 'practicing' her scooping with a spoon but mainly used hands (she has just turned one). Another favourite is beans with grated cheese in and then toast fingers.

Anoth thing I do is have about three spoons, and I pre load them and leave them on the tray and she picks them.up.and spoons it in herself. Ive done that since around 8m.
