Ok I might be being daft here but is it 6 calendar months or 24 weeks or just go with the flow circa 6 months?!

Can you tell DS us my first! Wink

26 weeks is 6 months (half of 52 weeks)

I like your logic :-)

I think you just go with the flow around that time - all babies are different. Our DS is 22 weeks, but has been sitting up for a while, able to pick things up and them in his mouth etc.. and on a recent trip to the doctors for eczema, I was told that he was showing all the signs of being ready by the GP.

We're doing baby-led weaning, so yesterday I have him a chip-sized piece of mango as I was having some. It was like I'd given him a slippery fish - it kept popping out the top if his hands! He put it in his mouth a few times and then played with something else.
My plan is to give him a few bits every so often - I can't imagine he'll be swallowing much for a few weeks as we're not doing purees - and then ramp it up after 6 months.
