ds is 9 months and dropped down to 25th centile weighing less than he did 2 months ago

he's got reflux so keeping things down can be a challenge

all his meals are homemade such as spag bol, veg risotto, casserole, shepherds pie. He has a yoghurt after lunch and fruit after dinner. breakfast is weetabix/porridge

he has 3 6oz bottles of milk a day

all ideas welcome

I'd up his formula slightly, maybe offer another smaller bottle.

My DD had reflux and struggled to put on weight when she was a baby. I was advised to try and get high calorie foods into her, such as mash with cream and butter, cheesy pasta sauces, cheese omelettes, that sort of thing.
For what it's worth, she was still tiny (but happy) until the reflux stopped suddenly one day at 13 months.

I've tried giving him a bigger amount of milk but he won't drink it, will try adding another bottle.

im worried about giving him higher calorie food as i want him to have a healthy diet, this might be my problem though. Dp & i have always been chubby and im determined that ds will be an average weight with a healthy lifestyle

i don't think it helps that's he's over the 100 centile for height so the health visitor thinks hes really thin but he's always been long and skinny!

But in this case, higher calorie foods are healthier. It doesn't have to be forever - you can scale back if need be.

I've sent dp out to get a swiss roll and some custard, ill try giving him that as a pudding at night and some of those organix snacks between meals.

wish i needed fattening up!!

My ex prem DS struggles to put on weight. Custard is good, add a spoonful of double cream to boost calories further. Add butter and cheese to everything.

You can also add olive oil. I also used to give DS those little petit filous chocolate pots, they are higher calorie than the fruit ones if I remember rightly.
