Did anybody else start weaning later than six months?

I started weaning my daughter at seven months and just wondered whether I'm the only one to leave it later?

I didn't start my ds until 7 months because I broke my foot and sitting on the sofa feeding him was sooo much easier. He was always a really long, strong healthy baby who thrived on breast milk. In fact he was crawling long before he started eating. He took to food really easily and has never had a problem. Cut down on the amount of time I was spooning puréed crap into his mouth.

How is weaning going? Have you any concerns?

My dd is just coming up 8 months and i started half heartedly blw at nearly 7 months as frankly i can't be bothered and i was too busy and just find it easier to bf on demand!!
Last few weeks I've started putting a bit more effort as go back to work next year but don't see why people are in such a rush to start solids. Its a faff, and the have yuky smelly solid poo!!!! Oh dd is still on 91st entire for weight on purely bm so not starting solids till a bit later didn't affect her in anyway!!

I started my dd2 on BLW when she was almost 8 months. This was after trying to feed her from a spoon from 6 months onwards and she would just point blank refuse to eat it. She's a feisty bugger.

Not deliberately but yes, I have twins and started trying to wean at 6 months but DTD had no interest at all and didn't eat anything until 8 months. Now 12 months old they both eat like gannets!

I half-heartedly started at 6 months, DD wasn't really interested until at least 7mo, if not later, so we didn't start trying to drop milk feeds and replace it with solid food until well past her being 7mo. Babies are interested when they're interested.
