Dd is 8 month and blw. Starting to get the hang of it now. How long do you leave them with food before you clean up or remove? Don't want to rush dd in anyway but she was still happily chewing her toast for 40 mins or so this morning. Everytime i thought she had finished i would go to clear the left over mulch or crumbs but she'd start cramming it in her mouth again if i go to take it away?!

Not sure if this answers your question or not but with DD1 I used to eat my meal, clear everything else up and do the washing up (we eat in the kitchen) and then clear up her food and clean her up.

No longer than about 30 minutes here. Not that there's much left after 30 mins, I've got a greedy one on my hands!

If he cries when I go to take him out of the highchair then I know he's not done. I also say very clearly 'All gone!' so he knows it's the end of the meal.

When my dd gets fed up of being in chair, stops eating & chucks food over the side in disgust. It doesn't take very long to get to this point & it's fairly clear when dd has Had Enough!

My DD starts tipping her bowl over when she's done. I assumed she was just playin with it for a while but once she flips it over she really isn't interested anymore. It's a helpful sign but messy
