I just wondered how it was all going?

I don't know what to think of it all. Judging by the nappy evidence, something must be going in but it doesn't seem to be much. Most of it gets thrown straight on the floor.

Anybody?

There have been many threads on BLW but I started one a few weeks ago when I was feeling clueless and neglectful. We've found our feet and like you, judging by the nappies, somethings are going in.

dd2 is 28/9 weeks I think and so far has had brocolli, avcado, lots of bread and toast, pieces of mild cheese, well cooked peppers with the skin off, banana, apple, pear slices, baby rice cakes, oh yes, and an egg yolk omelette. I think I'll make her french taost (with egg yolk) in future as the omelette was a bit of a faff.

How old is your LO? DS is now 9 months and we've been doing this for 6 months. He ate a bit at each meal, though not huge amounts, for at least a month. Now he's still not a massive eater, and he's very erratic. But he's still bfing OK - though mostly at night coz it's quiet and dark and he has nothing better to do. I've stopped worrying about how much he eats. I know it can be stressful at first, but it's definitely worth it - honestly!

maretta, DS is about 32 weeks, I've been weaning him for 5 weeks. He was really poorly with a viral infection shortly after we started and is now cutting his bottom two teeth so it's all a bit stop/start IYKWIM. Like you say, there's obviously stuff going in, not huge amounts but the interest is there. He's tried a broader range of foods than he would if I pureed, I think, which is a good aspect.

I keep reminding myself that weaning DD was a hit-and-miss affair and I pureed for her. I think I'm more relaxed about the speed of it all because I intend to take a career break this time around whereas DD was going to nursery at 10 months so, for my own peace of mind, I wanted to know she would eat something there. I'm sure I would be stressing if I was returning to work soon. However, everyone on here seems to go through these initial wobbles but then are really happy they continued so I wouldn't worry too much - at this stage most of a babies calories should be coming from milk anyway.
