Milk at 1? Help!

HV said from 1yo, not to give bottles at all - how on earth is this going to work?!

DS is 11mo and still having 4 bottles a day! Have tried to get him down to 3 (like all the other babies I know this age are by now) but he's not having any of it.

He's doing really well with food (BLW) so I thought we had this weaning thing sorted - we really don't, not if it means actually cutting down on milk!

Please help, should I be forcing the issue now by withholding milk?

Is this another example of worthless advice from a HV?
Are they just paid to make people think they're doing it all wrong?
Look, I don't know what I'm talking about but if the WHO advise breast feeding up to two years old, why should you be withholding milk from your baby?

Does she mean you should try to move to a cup? We were advised to go straight to a cup when we were weaning from bf but yes to milk instead.

Well I do normally ignore most of what they say but usually check with MN first Wink

Just all the other babies I know are puree fed and I'm not sure if BLWing is making a difference - I think he's eating a lot at mealtimes, well enough, but why isn't he cutting down on milk?

Breastfeeding is apparently ok but bottles damage their teeth. He doesn't have a dummy though, so does it really make that much of a difference?

HV said offer milk in cups but he isn't v good at drinking from cups and it's clearly the comfort of sucking that he wants.
