have I poisoned ds with ricotta?

I got a bit blase about food for DS (8 months) and he had a ricotta sweet potato and pasta thing. And that night puked and pooed badly at about 11 (both very unusual for him). A friend says ricotta isn't pasteurised so he shouldn't have it - is that right, and could it have made him ill? Unfortunately have made up a huge batch and i don't want to make him ill again.
He also had teething powders for the first time yesterday - could that have done it?
Help!

There's a recipe for ricotta and plum sauce in the 'feeding your baby' book

If that helps!

not sure if ricotta is pasteurised or not, but given it's fine to eat when PG, I would have thought it was OK in principle for a baby, but it does sound like it was a bit rich for him. I think it's more likely to be the ricotta than teething powders that's done it.

it can be pasteurised or unpasteurised - you need to check the packaging.

Its from Tescos but it doesn't say anything either way on the packet. Would unpasteurised stuff necessarily make you ill? I thought it was just the possibility of listeria or something is higher if not pasteurised?
